the sculptures in the series 'letter forms' are based on the wave form images created by speaking or singing the letters of the alphabet into a computer. these images were then drawn in pencil and constructed in 3-D using wooden dowels, embroidery thread, glue, and polyurethane. the consonants are all painted a pale blue, while the vowels are colored in relation to rimbaud's poem 'the alchemy of the verb' - black, white, red, blue and green. a set of spoken vowels were originally shown at the stadt galerie in saarbrucken germany as part of the resonanzen exhibition. a larger set of sung vowels was shown at gallery e/static in 2004 as part of the solo exhibition cups into clouds.

each sculpture is approximately 8" - 12" long.
